February: Several Tribal members recently completed a Cultural Monitoring training program sponsored by the Buena Vista Rancheria. The class was the first in a three part series designed to help tribal people with the protection of cultural resources and archaeologically significant sites.
January: Six members of the tribe attended a workshop sponsored by IDRS and the Tuolumne Rancheria. The workshop focused on Inter-Cultural Communications and Negotiations.
Tribal members attended the Sylvia Burley protest in front of the Federal Building in Sacramento. Our attendance was designed to offset the negative information distributed by Sylvia and her family. The protest was designed to negatively portray the Central California Agency as taking away "Tribal Land". This is simply not the case. The bank is rightfully foreclosing on Sylvia's personal residence and our members were able to share the correct information with anyone that would listen. We believe our presence at the protest was very helpful in helping to dispel the mis-information that has been spread by Sylvia. (FYI: No one from our tribe was paid to attend this protest as has been stated on Sylvia's site.)
